Alternutive started as a way for me to satisfy my craving for peanut butter while being severely allergic to nuts. Using Sunflower Seed Butter as nut-free alternative, I homemade my own snacks to safely re-create the taste of peanut butter. As a college student, I set out to turn my snacks into safely manufactured products for other people with limited snack options.
We joined Hope & Main to launch Alternutive and create our recipes. Hand-making and vending our products at local markets around Rhode Island helped shape the values we took with us when we transitioned to the dedicated allergen-free facility we call home today. By keeping homemade, local quality in mind, we preserve our roots in everything we make.

We are a 100% dedicated nut-free company. No peanuts. No tree-nuts. No cross-contamination. That means NO NUTS in the recipes, on the equipment, or in the facility. Our products are free from 12/12 major allergens and our facility is free from 10/12 major allergens. The safety of the food allergy community is important to us.
